League Age Transition : At the 2016 Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of Dixie Youth Baseball (the "DYB Board") voted to move the player age determination date from May 1 to September 1 and to implement the change so as to not affect 2017 players of league age 6-12 through the 2023 season. Therefore, the current May 1 cutoff date will not change for league age 6 through 12 players born between May 1, 2004 and May 1, 2010 for the 2017 season through the 2023 season. In 2017, League Age 5 and Under players will use the September 1 age determination date and each year thereafter.

Why the change? Dixie Youth has received a large number of requests from parents who indicated their players wanted to play with their classmates. Dixie Youth also received complaints about 13 year olds playing in a 12 and under program. The new September 1 cutoff date when fully transitioned will allow the great majority of players to play with their classmates and all players will be chronologically age 12 and under throughout the regular season and tournament play. A complete listing of all Age Charts for the 2017 through 2023 seasons are available to view on the Dixie Youth website at youth.dixie.org.

Games:

  • Please be on time for games. If the game ahead of you runs short your game may be able to get an early start.

  • If a rain out occurs everyone will be notified as soon as official word of game cancellation is given.  There may be times when no notification is given due to unpredictable storms during this time of the year and games may be canceled at the last minute.  There can possibly be a cancellation or game delay depending on the severity of the storm.  Notifications are sent out via text, Facebook and emails as soon as the PARD office is notified.

  • If games are “canceled due to field conditions” that means due to heavy amounts of rain the field are unsafe for play.  The ground can only hold so much water and may become saturated.  Cancellations are determined by the PYB/S board and the PARD Park Supervisor.

  • At some point in the season, make up dates, due to weather cancellations, will be decided by the league officers and league board.   Make up games may be schedule on some Saturdays.  Make up games can also be scheduled at the last minute.  For some of the younger age groups such as t-ball and 6 coach pitch, the season may run a couple of extra weeks due to weather.  Remember the weather can change quickly.  The radar does get checked, but at times the radar makes the decision hard to call.

  • Please feel free to offer your help to the Coach.  Team Moms and Dads are always appreciated. Please remember that all board members, league officers and coaches are volunteers who holds jobs outside of the baseball activities.

  • Please read and follow the codes of conduct.  We want this to be a fun and safe environment for all!

  • Please abide to all park rules.

  •  If an issue between you and a coach or anyone at the game, arises and cannot be resolved, email a written complaint to your league officer and sports@pard1.com.  The other party/parties should do the same.  Please refrain from having disagreements in front of the players.  All complaints and issues should be made in writing.
